Policies FAQ Booking Prep and After Care
What is your rate?
My minimum is $200, I usually give out an estimate. I base my prices off details + size + placement. I price by the piece but an estimated hourly rate is between $120-150/hr
Where are you located?
I work right next to heartwell park in a private suite, the exact address will be sent a couple days before the appointment day.
Can I use numbing cream?
I do not work with numbing cream -- Numbing creams tend to change the texture of your skin making it harder on my end. If numbing cream is applied I will not be able to tattoo you.
I have eczema, can I get tattooed?
You can get tattooed if you have eczema over the skin that isn’t affected; I just cannot tattoo over any eczema flare ups or any spots that are red or visibly irritated.
Can I bring a guest with me?
Yes! Feel free to bring a friend or family member with you, I do have a lobby/waiting area with a TV, couch, chairs, and a mini fridge; or they can watch the procedure from a safe distance. Guests must be 18+ & no pets or infants allowed.
Can I bring food?
Yes, you may bring any food, snacks, and drinks. I also have a mini fridge with cold waters + different little snacks.
Do you take walk-ins?
I am appointment based only. I usually book out a month ahead. My availability is always in my Instagram highlights.
Can I see the design before the appointment?
Any custom work will be shown the day of the appointment, we can discuss any small changes right then and there. You can also reach out to me beforehand if you’d like to change your idea completely. (large scale changes might need to be rescheduled)
Do you do cover ups or reworks?
Yes I do, but it also varies from piece to piece; you are welcome to give me ideas or themes but ultimately I do require full creative freedom to fully be able to do my best. I will only take on a coverup//rework if I believe I can cover it or redo it completely and still be proud of the work. Send me a picture of it and I can let you know if it's something I can take on. Rates for reworks/cover ups are higher.
Do you do touch ups?
Yes as long as you let me know as soon as the tattoo finishes healing (1.5-2 months), I will touch it up for free. Feet, hand, finger, knee, and elbow tattoos will be charged a set up fee for touch ups. If you let me know the tattoo needs a touch up after the aforementioned timeframe I will charge my set up/material fee, or if you have another appointment booked with me or plan to book with me again in the future I will gladly touch it up for free since all my materials are going to be set up.
Do you do small tattoos?
Yes, my main focus is larger scale pieces but I still enjoy taking on smaller and simpler work. I recommend booking multiple smaller pieces to get your money's worth. My minimum is $200 so regardless if it's one small tattoo or 2-4 small tattoos it's still going to be $200.
Do you do fine line/single needle/dainty tattoos?
If you’re going for a tiny, soft, thin, and dainty tattoo look I am probably not the artist for you. My style is bolder with higher contrast.
Do you do other styles of tattooing?
I’m open to different styles outside of my usual style. Examples: traditional, cybersiglism, smaller scaled, outlines, etc. However, there’s not a ton of room for creativity design-wise as it is not something I specialize in compared to my usual style. -- Always ask though because there’s definitely some things I would love to try.
How much for a sleeve?
It depends on what we’re doing! Size of your limbs, subject matters, colors, etc.
My friend wants a tattoo, can you give me an estimate?
Direct them to my website/dms :) I prefer working with people directly to avoid any miscommunication when it comes to booking.
Do you do color tests?
Yes! If you would like to see how colors heal and settle on your skin, I do offer color swatches. (free as an add on for any darker complexioned bipoc with an already existing appointment)
Do you work mornings?
I am not a morning person, I unfortunately do not work mornings.
Why didn’t you post my tattoo?
I don’t post a good 80% of my tattoos. I love every single piece I’ve done, however there are many reasons why I don’t post a lot of my tattoos. Sometimes I don’t get good pictures or the skin is too swollen/red or there’s a huge glare in the picture. I also don’t normally post any smaller scale tattoos or any tattoo styles that I don’t feel represent my own personal artistic style.
I’m 17 and have legal guardians permission, can I get a tattoo?
No, you must be 18+ in the state of California.
What form of payments do you prefer?
For deposits -- Venmo or zelle; In person -- Cash only.
How much cash should I bring?
The tattoo shouldn’t be more than the estimate I give you, unless you are adding on or going bigger than expected.
What safety and sanitization procedures do you follow?
Skin is properly disinfected, all of my disposable equipment is single use and is disposed of after every client. All my equipment (machine, arm rest, bed etc) is cleaned and wrapped in between each client. Hands are washed and sanitized. Gloves are changed in between every client and during the tattoo. I do wear a mask during the procedure and I am fully vaccinated for covid. I am licensed with the long beach health department and have a bloodborne pathogens certificate that is renewed every year.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are not required, I wear one for sanitary reasons.
Does your studio have parking?
Yes, there is plenty of parking inside.
I'm running late. Will you still be able to tattoo me?
I'm not too strict with lateness as long as it’s a reasonable time + you're keeping me updated. If you're going to be a couple of minutes late, that's more than okay: take your time and get here safe. However if you're going to be more than 30 minutes late, please check in with me to make sure I can still accommodate you.
Can i get tattooed if I have a dentist appointment before?
If you have a dentist appointment coming up please give me a heads up ahead of time so I can reschedule you. I cannot tattoo you if you were on any anesthetics or medications. It is best to wait until you are fully healed before introducing additional trauma to your body: give yourself time to heal, a tattoo can wait.
How do you pronounce your name?
Ah-med, kinda like amen but with a D :)
